Lesson 4 – Portuguese With Carla Podcast

The 4th lesson in our free Portuguese audio course is here. We continue following our imaginary friends on their Portuguese holiday. This week they venture into a hotel. What common Portuguese expressions will they hear and use? I also introduce you to cardinal numbers.

Also in this lesson:  Research shows that humans store vocabulary in the brain more in the form of a complex web of interdependencies than in the commonly accepted “storage box” fashion.

Portuguese Transcript

C- Boa noite. Bem vindos ao Hotel Sabala.
M- Boa noite. Temos uma reserva.
C- Qual é o nome?
M- Peter and Claire Smith
C- E os seus documentos?
M- Desculpe, não compreendo. Pode repetir?
C- Os seus documentos? Os vossos passaportes?
M- Ah, aqui tem.
C- Obrigada. Só um momento…aqui está. Ora, aqui tem a chave. O quarto é o número 16 e fica no segundo andar. O pequeno-almoço é das 7.30 às 10.
M- Ok, obrigado. Já agora onde fica o refeitório?
C- Fica mesmo lá em cima, no terraço. Para ligar à receção, basta ligar para o número 10.
M- E têm ginásio?
C- Sim, sim. Na cave temos um ginásio, sauna e uma pequena piscina.
M- Muito obrigado.
C- Não tem de quê. Uma boa noite.

C- De nada.
